Trawlworks, Inc. is a Rhode Island-based corporation formed in 1980 by Paul Shuman and Robert Taber. During that time primary emphasis was on towed commercial fishing gear for both midwater and bottom use. Related hardware and supplies were sourced both domestically and foreign.

In 1983 Paul Shuman left the company to pursue more specific fishing gear applications. In the succeeding years the scope of Trawlworks has gradually broadened to include wider segments of the marine industry such as general commercial and oceanographic research and exploration. Products are currently distributed to customers extending from Maine to the Texas Gulf coast.
